There are many deeply problematic qualities about AI which are especially troubling in the context of its misapplication to appraising. In some instances Google reverse image searches can be a helpful tool if critical analysis is later applied to review results, such as trying to identify the artist of an illegibly signed print.

By the late 1850s, some baseball wood cut prints appeared in the illustrated newspapers of the day. About the same time, a number of baseball images began to appear as music sheets, including this beautiful colored cover for “Live Oak Polka,” which was printed by Endicott & Co. In their "The National Game. Three 'Outs' and One 'Run.'

After many years of battling poverty, politicians and printers, a portfolio, History of the Indian Tribes of North America , was published with 117 portraits and three scenes (actually 118 portrait prints were produced, but one was never included in the portfolio). However, they sell for a wide range of prices.

Images printed on paper. They're everywhere; printed images adorn our surroundings and broadcast information. But the word itself, "print," is vague and overarching. The word is self-explanatory by nature of its verb-form:"a print is what you get when you *print* a marking substance onto a surface."

Another issue to keep in mind is what medium you'd like to purchase: a wide range is available including original works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, graphite as well as printed works including etchings, lithographs, silkscreens, and digital prints. Salvador Dali prints should not be touched with a ten-foot-pole.
