As Claudia pointed out in her interview on Larissa Wild’s The Art Elevator Podcast , NFTs have a very high carbon footprint, exponentially higher than most artworks made in traditional mediums like paintings and sculpture. The second issue is determining authenticity and tracking provenance through the use of blockchain technology.

Because the flag will free-hang permanently on display, visible from both sides, the flag had to be structurally whole in order to hang safely and in a pleasing authentic manner. Non-sampling technical analysis was performed through the microscopy, reflectance and Raman spectroscopy, and x-ray fluorescence.
